Can I send toys or books? Our primary focus is clothes (up to 12 months), blankets, hat, socks, bibs and burp cloths (see "how to help".) With allergy issues etc. it's best not to pass along used stuffed animals or other toys. Books will eventually be added to our list of Items to donate, but for now (as we get started) we need to stick to our primary focus.

Can I send you toddler clothing too? Right now we are taking premature sizes to 12 months. We want the newborns to be able to start wearing or using the items immediately. Thank you for asking. If you would like for us to give you ideas of places to send those clothes, email us and we can give you organizations that will take toddler clothing. As Strick's Gift grows we will be expanding our list of Items that can be donated.

How is Strick's Gifts better than just dropping it off at Goodwill? Although Goodwill is an excellent organization we are specifically targeting newborns whose families do not have the means to pay for additional clothing for their children and we are giving it to them in the hospital - no charge, no forms, no questions - just a nice little package and well wishes.

I have baby furniture that I would like to donate will you take that? Please email us info@stricksgift.org if you have something in particular and we'll let our resources at the hospitals know that it is available. There is a need out there and we can get you in touch with the right people.

How can I get involved? Spread the word! Forward this website! Get our website in your church newsletters! A friend of mine suggested that mothers and friends should have showers for 2nd and 3rd children and the gifts brought be sent to Strick's Gift so we can distribute them to babies in need. What a great suggestion! In the "contact us" section of the website there is a place to email Strick's Gift (info@stricksgift.org) for more questions or feedback - if you have suggestions, please send those too!

What do you mean by giving it as a gift? We will have bags with the "Strick's Gift" logo on the outside and we will wrap the clothes and other items in baby blue tissue. It will be beautiful and I am sure a welcome gesture to many new parents! We want it to feel like a gift, not a handout. So remember, when you send us the clothes or blankets they are going straight to the families the few days they are in the hospital - it is a great thing to do and something you can feel really good about. Save your keepsakes, but pass along what you don't use anymore.
